Description
Waitress, Broadway’s smash-hit musical, is finally baking its way to Australia for the very first time. Inspired by Waitress, the show features a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson, an uplifting original score by Grammy® winner Sara Bareilles (“Love Song,” “Brave”), and direction by Tony® Award winner Diane Paulus.
The Australian production stars powerhouse performer Natalie Bassingthwaighte as Jenna, alongside Gabriy el Thomas as Becky and theatre favourite Mackenzie Dunn as Dawn. They are joined by stage and screen star Rob Mills as Dr. Pomatter and Australian entertainment legend John Waters as Joe.
This heartfelt and empowering musical follows Jenna, a small-town waitress and talented pie maker dreaming of a fresh start beyond her troubled marriage. When a baking contest, an unexpected romance, and the support of her fellow waitresses offer new possibilities, Jenna begins to realise that the secret ingredient to happiness might be closer than she ever imagined. 🥧🎭✨
