Set sail on a thrilling adventure with Silver Tongue, a bold, funny, and delightfully offbeat reimagining of Treasure Island. This world-premiere musical tears up the map and redraws the legend with unforgettable songs, knockabout humour, and the signature Hayes Theatre sparkle. Created by breakout Australian talents Miranda Middleton, Jacob Parker, and Alec Steedman, and nurtured over several years at Hayes, it’s a swashbuckling journey brimming with heart, swagger, and surprises at every turn.
At the center are Jim, a young person adrift and wrestling with ambition and identity while chasing a map and a myth, and the notorious Silver Tongue, a magnetic pirate queen who is equal parts mentor, menace, and mystery. Together, they embark on a rollicking treasure hunt filled with double- and triple-crosses, uncharted waters, and ultimately a quest for truth, redemption, and the chance to write their own story.
Brought to life by a cast of actor-musicians under the guidance of Hayes Theatre Artistic Directors and featuring Billie Palin (Godspell, The Pirates of Penzance) in the title role, this production promises a wet, wild, and witty voyage packed with big ideas, sharp dialogue, and punchy, genre-blending songs.
