Description
It’s 2026, Earth is burning, and time is running out.
Geneticist Evie and the crew of the ARK MARK II spaceship are humanity’s last hope—tasked with rescuing Earth’s species two by two and transporting them to a new home on Mars. From lions to rare creatures like the Javan warty pig, the plan is to rebuild life inside purpose-built biomes known as “The Second Eden.”
Behind the mission stands GENESIS, a powerful corporate force selling salvation through a slick marketing campaign. But the mission is thrown into chaos when Evie discovers she’s unexpectedly pregnant—thanks to her husband Alan forgetting his birth control.
As personal dilemmas collide with cosmic responsibility, Evie uncovers a shocking truth about the mission that forces the crew to question everything they thought they knew. If humanity couldn’t protect Earth, what hope does it have on Mars?
Written by award-winning playwright Kathryn Marquet and directed by Ian Lawson, Artistic Director of Playlab Theatre, Second Coming is a tragicomedy of galactic proportions—a sharp, darkly funny love letter to Earth that explores corporate power, oligarchy, and the urgent need for new ethics in a world driven by boundless capitalism.
