Under the baton of Stephen Layton, one of the world’s leading choral conductors, this familiar masterpiece is rendered with striking clarity. Phrases sharpen, harmonies soar, and the profoundly human emotions of Mozart’s most complex and mysterious work are revealed.
He is joined by a stellar quartet of Australian soloists: soprano Samantha Clarke with her clear, expansive tone; mezzo Ashlyn Tymms bringing grounded warmth; tenor Andrew Goodwin with fluency and grace; and baritone Simon Meadows providing a firm, anchoring presence. Together, their voices intertwine in heavenly harmony.
