After selling out in London and becoming the city’s best-selling musical of all time, Fiddler on the Roof—winner of three Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival—will make its Australian premiere at Theatre Royal Sydney from 31 July 2026.
This is a rare chance to experience the critically acclaimed West End production live in Australia.
The production is brought to life by a powerhouse creative team, directed by Jordan Fein (Into the Woods), with choreography by Julia Cheng (Cabaret) and design by Tom Scutt, an Olivier and Tony Award®-winning designer.
Set in 1905 in the small village of Anatevka, the story follows Tevye, a humble milkman who lives by long-held traditions. For his five daughters, this means marriages arranged by the village matchmaker. But as each daughter begins to challenge those traditions, and the world around them starts to change, Tevye must decide whether to hold firmly to the past or learn to embrace the unfamiliar.
Featuring beloved songs such as If I Were A Rich Man, Tradition, Matchmaker, and Sunrise, Sunset, this timeless musical is a vibrant celebration of love, family, and community. 🎭
