There’s no better way to introduce young listeners to the orchestra than with Saint-Saëns’ enchanting Carnival of the Animals.
From lumbering double-bass elephants to clucking piano-and-string hens and the elegant sweep of the cello’s swan, this musical menagerie has all the wonder and whimsy of a day at the zoo. Alex Turley’s Animalia adds an Australian twist, blending the sounds of our own unique wildlife into a magical modern companion piece.
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra is delighted to present the 12:30pm performance as a relaxed session, specially designed for audiences with autism or sensory sensitivities. With a smaller audience, gentler lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect way for anyone to enjoy music in a more comfortable and flexible setting.
